Empowering Expecting and New Mothers: The Statesboro Birth Circle Community

2 Min Read

Mission and History

The Statesboro Birth Circle, established in 2023 by Emily Bohannon, aims to empower women through education, community support, and advocacy during the transformative transition to motherhood. Bohannon, a certified doula and yoga instructor, recognized a need for comprehensive resources in her community.

Emily Bohannon: Founder and Guiding Light

Emily Bohannon, inspired by her own birth experience and the support of her doula, pursued training through DONA International. She subsequently created B4 Birth Doula Training, a certification program of her own. Bohannon believes that education from local experts can effectively address disparities in women’s health.

Mission Statement: Empowering Women in Motherhood

The Birth Circle’s motto encapsulates its core mission: “We believe women are capable of thriving through transitioning into motherhood, without fear, when she is empowered in her choices through education, a supportive community, and personal advocacy.”
