Yoga has become increasingly popular in health-conscious San Diego. While yoga classes can be expensive, there are several free or donation-based options available.

Yoga in the City

Hosted by Scripps Health, this free weekly Saturday series welcomes people of all ages. Classes begin at 9:00 a.m. and last for an hour. Please bring your own mat.

Yoga at The Village

This free monthly class is held on the fourth Thursday of every month at The Village at Pacific Highlands Ranch. Classes begin at 9:00 a.m. Mat rentals are available for $2.

Sip & Savasana

This monthly free yoga event is held on the Upper East Bar rooftop patio at Kimpton Solamar. The evening session overlooks the downtown San Diego skyline from 6-8 p.m. No reservation is required.

Topside Yoga

Hosted by Yoga Loft and the Hotel Republic, this complimentary weekly session is held on the third-floor Topside Terrace every Saturday morning from 8:30-9:30 a.m. The class is open to both hotel guests and the general public. Please bring your own mat if you are not a hotel guest.

San Diego Beach Yoga

Yoga teacher John Beck leads donation-based yoga classes every Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at Guard Tower 5 in Ocean Beach.

Donation-based Beach Yoga

These weekly sessions are held at various locations in Mission Beach, Ocean Beach, and Imperial Beach. Classes are held on the beach every day at Ormond Court at 11 a.m. in Mission Beach, on the cliffs at Sunset Cliffs and Adair Street at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Ocean Beach, and at the grassy area in front of the pier at Evergreen Street at 2:30 p.m. on Fridays in Imperial Beach.

Hops & Salutations Yoga

This weekly event is held at 10 a.m. every Sunday on the mezzanine at North Park Beer Company. Bring your own mat and get $1 off all NPBC beers after your practice.

Karma Classes

Modo Yoga in Clairemont offers “Karma Classes” on Wednesday nights at 5:30 p.m. for a $5 (minimum) donation. Proceeds benefit local and international charities.
