As we age, preserving and enhancing our physical abilities becomes paramount for maintaining an active and independent lifestyle. Gentle Yoga & Balance 50+ is designed to address these needs by fostering strength, flexibility, and balance.

Class Description

Gentle yoga classes are tailored for individuals seeking to maintain and improve their range of motion and strength in key areas such as the shoulders, back, hips, knees, and legs. Through a variety of postures, we develop enhanced balance while cultivating core and breath awareness. The use of props like blocks, straps, and chairs enhances accessibility and customization. Each class concludes with a restorative guided meditation.

Class Levels

  • Level 1: Suitable for beginners with little to no yoga experience.
  • Level 2: Recommended for individuals with some yoga or fitness experience.

Class Information

  • Location: Almonte Old Town Hall (3rd Floor Auditorium)
  • Dates: Wednesdays, March 6 – April 3 (5 classes)
  • Times: 9:30am – 10:30am (Level 2), 11:00am – 12:00pm (Level 1)
  • Cost: $15 per class or $65 for the 5-class series

About the Instructor

Sarah Jones is a Yoga Alliance certified instructor (ERYT-500) with over 15 years of experience. Her mission is to create accessible and enjoyable yoga experiences for students of all ages and abilities. She teaches at numerous studios across the region, including Beyond Yoga in Kanata and the Olde Forge Community Centre in Ottawa.
