Goat Yoga: What is it and why is it popular?

Goat yoga is a novel and engaging form of yoga that combines the calming benefits of yoga with the playful presence of baby goats. This unconventional practice has gained widespread popularity due to its therapeutic and stress-relieving effects. Participants engage in traditional yoga poses while interacting with the goats, which provide a calming and playful distraction.


Goat Yoga at the UNMC Center for Healthy Living

The UNMC Center for Healthy Living is hosting a goat yoga session on April 19th at the ice rink. This event offers an opportunity for participants to experience the unique benefits of goat yoga in a safe and inclusive environment.

To ensure a personalized and intimate experience, registration is required through ENGAGE. Interested individuals are encouraged to register promptly, as participation is limited to the first 25 participants. Waitlisted individuals will be contacted on the afternoon of April 19th if openings become available. The cost for each session is $25.

Two sessions will be offered:

  • Session 1: 5:15 p. m. to 5:45 p. m.
  • Session 2: 6 p. m. to 6:30 p. m.

Schedule and Registration

Interested individuals can register for goat yoga through ENGAGE. Please note that registration is limited to the first 25 participants.

The two sessions will be held on April 19th at the following times:

Session 1 5:15 p.m. – 5:45 p.m.
Session 2 6:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

The cost for each session is $25.


In Case of Inclement Weather

In the event of inclement weather, the goat yoga session will be held in the Center for Healthy Living gymnasium.
