International Day of Yoga Celebrations in Lutyens’ Delhi, New Delhi

Venue and Organization

On the occasion of International Day of Yoga, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) will organize yoga events at multiple locations across Lutyens’ Delhi on Wednesday. The events, commencing at 6:00 AM, will be held at Nehru Park, Lodhi Garden, Talkatora Garden, Kartavya Path, New Moti Bagh-IAS Residences, Sanjay Jheel, Singapore Park, and Central Park. These events will be conducted in collaboration with renowned yoga organizations such as Art of Living, Patanjali Yoga Samiti, and Gayatri Parivar.

Chief Guest and Guest Speakers

Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena will grace the event organized by the Delhi Development Authority at Baansera in Sarai Kale Khan, commencing at 6:15 AM. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi will host an event at Hari Nagar near Ghanta Ghar, featuring the participation of school children.

Special Features

Prior to the events, recorded messages from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar will be broadcasted on LED screens. To encourage participation, NDMC conducted several build-up camps from June 17 to 20 in association with the Ministry of Ayush and other organizations.

Logistics and Sanitation

Parking arrangements have been made in consultation with the police at locations with anticipated high turnout, including Lodhi Garden, Nehru Park, Talkatora Garden, and Kartavya Path. To maintain cleanliness, NDMC’s public health department will ensure regular waste management and deploy additional manpower at all venues. Adequate facilities such as water, mobile toilets, and VIP toilets will be provided as needed.
