G20 Park and G20 Road
In preparation for the upcoming G20 summit, the city of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, has renamed its iconic Globe Park as “G20 Park.” Additionally, Bandh Road, which runs parallel to Janeshwar Mishra Park, will be renamed “G20 Road.”
Official Directives
These changes were announced by Divisional Commissioner Roshan Jacob during a surprise inspection of the stretch from Bada Imambada to Shaheed Path. Jacob instructed Lucknow Development Authority to implement the name changes.
Accountability and Progress
Jacob also expressed dissatisfaction with the National Highway Authority of India’s laxity and delays in the repair and painting of the damaged railing on Shaheed Path. She inspected all intersections from Bandha Road to the airport, urging officials to expedite landscaping and painting efforts.
Jacob emphasized the importance of increasing manpower and working around the clock to meet deadlines. She warned of strict consequences for any further delays.
