Overview

MediaTek’s latest flagship mobile chip, the Dimensity 9300, boasts an innovative All Big Core design that combines exceptional performance with industry-leading power efficiency. This unique configuration enables unparalleled user experiences in gaming, video capture, and on-device generative AI processing.

Generative AI Processing

The Dimensity 9300 integrates MediaTek’s next-generation APU 790 AI processor, which significantly enhances generative AI performance and energy efficiency for faster and safer edge computing.

The APU 790 doubles the integer and floating-point operations performance while reducing power consumption by 45%. By optimizing the Transformer model for operator acceleration, the APU 790’s processing speed is eight times faster than the previous generation, enabling image generation within one second using Stable Diffusion.

MediaTek’s mixed-precision INT4 quantization technology, coupled with its NeuroPilot memory hardware compression, efficiently optimizes memory bandwidth and reduces memory requirements for large AI models.

The APU 790 supports NeuroPilot Fusion, which can continuously perform LoRA low-rank adaptation and handle large language models with parameters ranging from 1B to 33B. As part of MediaTek’s extensive AI ecosystem, the Dimensity 9300 supports cutting-edge mainstream large language models, including Meta Llama 2, Baichuan 2, Baidu AI LLM, and more.

Gaming Performance

The Dimensity 9300 features Arm’s latest flagship GPU, the Immortalis-G720, which significantly enhances mobile gaming experiences.

The Dimensity 9300 offers a 46% increase in GPU performance compared to its predecessor, the Dimensity 9200, while maintaining power consumption at the same level. It also provides a 40% reduction in GPU power usage at the same performance level as the previous generation chipset.

Photography and Video Capture

The Dimensity 9300 redefines mobile photography and video capture with its low-power AI-ISP and always-on HDR up to 4K resolution at 60 frames per second (fps).

Additionally, the chipset supports 4K at 30 fps cinematic mode with real-time bokeh tracking, 4K AI Noise Reduction (AI-NR), and AI processing on RAW photos and videos. It will be compatible with the new Ultra HDR format in Android 14 for the next generation of smartphones.

The Dimensity 9300 display system utilizes the chipset’s powerful on-device AI capability to distinguish primary objects from background images in real time.

Together with the MiraVision Picture Quality (PQ) engine, it dynamically adjusts the contrast, sharpness, and color of primary objects, achieving a visual quality comparable to modern flagship DTVs.

Speedy Memory: Supports LPDDR5T 9600Mbps memory, the highest speed currently available.
