Mohali, October 16 – Senior Akali Dal leader Bikramjit Singh Majithia presented himself before a Mohali court today in connection with a Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act case filed against him in December 2021. The court scheduled the next hearing date for January 29, 2024.

Majithia’s Allegations against Chief Minister Mann

Addressing the media following the hearing, Majithia criticized Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for his alleged lack of sensitivity regarding the Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal issue. He urged the Chief Minister to provide an explanation for Punjab’s inadequate legal representation in the Supreme Court.

“The Chief Minister has acted under the influence of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal, intending to divert Punjab’s water resources to Haryana,” Majithia asserted.

Shiromani Akali Dal’s Opposition to Central Intervention

He emphasized the Shiromani Akali Dal’s resolute stance from the outset against allowing any central team into Punjab. “We will not tolerate any such intrusion,” he declared.

Corruption Allegations against AAP Government

Furthermore, Majithia accused the AAP government of shielding corrupt officials within the administration. He cited the government’s refusal to grant sanction to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for prosecuting senior-level officers involved in excise policy investigations.
