Diagnosis and Sabbatical
Samantha Ruth Prabhu, known for her performances in films such as Shaakunthalam and Citadel, has announced her decision to take a year-long sabbatical from acting to focus on her health.
The actress was diagnosed with myositis in 2022, a condition that causes inflammation of the muscles. This diagnosis prompted her to prioritize her physical and mental well-being through a period of rest and recovery.
Spiritual Sojourn
During her sabbatical, Prabhu has sought solace at Sadhguru’s Ashram, an ashram located in Coimbatore, India. She has shared a series of photographs on her Instagram account, capturing her experiences practicing yoga and meditation under the guidance of Jaggi Vasudev, also known as Sadhguru.
Prabhu has expressed gratitude for the transformative effects of meditation on her physical and mental health. She credits it as a source of strength, calm, connection, and clarity.
Isha Kriya Practice
Prabhu actively participates in Isha Kriya, a guided meditation technique developed by Sadhguru. She has shared her experiences with the practice on her Instagram account, emphasizing its benefits for health, prosperity, and well-being.

Upcoming Projects and Future Plans
Prior to her sabbatical, Prabhu completed filming for Citadel, an Indian adaptation of the Russo Brothers’ multi-series. The show features Prabhu opposite Varun Dhawan.
