Senior Shape Up: Strength, Balance, Flexibility

These one-hour exercise classes combine weight-bearing, balance, and stretching exercises to improve overall fitness. Participants engage in both standing and seated exercises, utilizing hand weights and ankle weights for resistance training. The majority of exercises are performed seated, with the inclusion of gentle aerobic exercises. The classes are designed to be fast-paced, enjoyable, and effective.

Instructor Information

The instructor, Eleanor Thompson, is an experienced fitness professional who has a passion for helping seniors improve their physical well-being. She has extensive knowledge in exercise science and is committed to providing safe and effective workout routines tailored to the needs of older adults.

Class Schedule

  • Day(s): Tuesdays and Fridays
  • Time: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
  • Duration: One hour

Prerequisites and Considerations

No prior fitness experience is required to participate in these classes. Drop-ins are welcome.

Participants must be in good health to ascend and descend stairs, as the classroom is located on the second floor of the church.

What to Bring

  • Hand and/or ankle weights appropriate for your fitness level
  • Water bottle
  • Comfortable clothing


A $5 donation per class is requested.
