The Restorative Power of Vedic Culture and Science

From February 20 to 22, Vedic scholars from 40 countries gathered in Delhi to share their knowledge and experience on Vedic education, technology, science, society, yoga, and meditation. The conference, titled “Vedic Science and Modern Science to Re-establish Vedic Civilization to make India a Lighthouse of the World,” was organized by the Foundation for Vedic India, Maharishi Veda Vyasa Pratisthan, and the Brahma Vidya Peetham.

Vedic Knowledge: A Source of Eternal Wisdom

Shankaracharya Swami Vasudeva-nanda Saraswati presided over the three-day event, emphasizing that the Vedas transcend religious boundaries and are accessible to all. Professor Tony Nadar from the US highlighted the universal nature of the Vedas, stating that they belong to the entire universe rather than any particular country or group.

Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi, a senior BJP leader, emphasized the importance of research in Vedic knowledge. Dr. John Hagelin, Chairman of the Global Union of Scientists for Peace, asserted that Vedic wisdom is essential for creating a harmonious world, reducing the need for modern medicines.

Vedic Traditions: Inspiring Embracing Life

Swami Amritswaroopananda, Vice President of Mata Amritnandamayi Muth, stressed the life-affirming nature of Vedic traditions, encouraging individuals to connect with the Vedas on a mental level.

Swami Govinddev Giri Maharaj, Founder President of Maharishi Vedvyasa Pratishthan, expressed his desire for people from around the world to come to India to study the Vedas.

Vedic Tools for Peace and Prosperity

Noted scientist Dr. Vijay Bhatkar described the Vedas as tools for understanding the world and restoring peace. Former ISRO chief Dr. G Madhvan Nair noted the advanced knowledge of the Vedic sages, who achieved through meditation what modern scientists are exploring through computers.

Dr. Subramanian Swamy emphasized the Vedic tradition’s focus on the welfare and prosperity of all beings.

Vedic Education: A Path to Personal and Societal Development

Professor Michael Dillbeck from the US highlighted the transformative power of the Vedas, providing active knowledge and fostering mental balance. Dr. Susan Delbeke, Chairman of the International Foundation of Consensus Based Education, emphasized the Vedas’ teachings on living an ethical and fulfilling life.

Swami Vishveshwarananda of Sannyas Ashram, Mumbai, emphasized the importance of ethical action in Vedic teachings.

Dr. Bevan Morris from the Maharishi University of Management, US, described Vedic education as a holistic approach to personal development.

Sadguru Shri Madhavdas, Founder of the SGVP International School, emphasized the Vedas’ ability to address global problems.

Vedic Wisdom: Guiding Principles for a Meaningful Life

Dr. Keith Wales from the California University highlighted the Vedas’ teachings on living in harmony with nature. Shri Nirmalanada Swamy from Adhichun-chungiri Math, Karnataka, emphasized the relevance of Vedic education in resolving contemporary challenges.

Dr. Brian Reej from America emphasized the power of Shastras as tools for achieving success.

Yogaguru Baba Ramdev advocated for the promotion of Vedic Yoga by the Indian government.
