Transformative Yoga Camp: A Holistic Alignment

Objective and Significance

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ranchi, organized a two-day Yoga Camp in collaboration with the Happiness Centre, IIM Ranchi, and the Department of Sports Science and Yoga (RKMVERI), Belur Math. The camp, held on February 11th, aimed to promote the transformative power of yoga and its ability to align the body, mind, and spirit.

Valedictory Ceremony

The valedictory ceremony was graced by the presence of Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director of IIM Ranchi, Prof. Prasenjit Chakrabarti, Prof. Tanusree Dutta, and Swami Vidyapradananda, a Ramakrishna Order monk and a Penn State University PhD holder. Swami Vidyapradananda played a pivotal role in the planning and execution of the camp.

Opening Remarks and Keynote Address

  • Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava highlighted the importance of yoga in enhancing concentration and the need for a focused approach in today’s multitasking world.
  • Swami Vidyapradananda expressed gratitude for the invitation and shared insights into the scientific planning behind the two-day camp. He appreciated the participants’ enthusiasm and urged them to integrate the takeaways from the sessions into their daily lives.

Integration of Yoga into Curriculum

Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava announced the integration of yoga into the academic curriculum, recognizing its potential to enhance the overall well-being of students.

Over 250 participants, including students and volunteers, actively engaged in the yoga sessions. The participants expressed enthusiasm and a willingness to incorporate the practices into their daily routines.
