Troy’s Riverfront Park Welcomes Free Fitness Classes

**Troy, New York (NEWS10)** – Downtown Troy’s Riverfront Park is pleased to announce the return of “Fitness in the Park,” a series of complimentary yoga and Zumba classes, commencing every Sunday from July 23rd to August 27th, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.

The program, organized by the Downtown Troy Business Improvement District (DTBID), will feature a rotating schedule of fitness offerings. Zumba, led by certified instructors from the YMCA of Troy, will occur on July 23rd, August 6th, and August 20th. Yoga classes, led by renowned instructor Meghan Hogan, will be held on July 30th, August 13th, and August 27th.

“Through our expanded partnerships this year, we are thrilled to present not only yoga, but also Zumba to our community,” remarked Olivia Clemente, Executive Director of DTBID. “By alternating weekends, we can cater to a broader audience who seek diverse and engaging fitness options on a consistent basis.”

Meghan Hogan, a highly experienced yoga instructor, expressed her enthusiasm for the program, stating, “I am delighted to share the transformative benefits of yoga with the Troy community. These classes offer a unique opportunity to connect with others while nurturing physical and mental well-being.”

The “Fitness in the Park” initiative is a testament to the city’s commitment to fostering a healthy and vibrant community. “We believe that physical activity is integral to the well-being of our residents,” said Clemente. “It is our hope that these classes will encourage individuals to embrace a more active lifestyle.”

Participation in the program is open to all members of the community. No registration or fees are required. Participants are advised to bring their own mats and water bottles for the yoga sessions.
