3 Min Read

Designed as a haven for a family’s spiritual practices, the Yoga & Spa Ubud embraces the harmonious interplay of body, mind, and spirit. Inspired by the graceful movements of the surrounding flora and the ancient tradition of yoga, the architecture showcases stunning bamboo arched frames that seamlessly blend with the breathtaking views.

Design and Structure

Spanning 196 m², the two-story building features a circular first floor enveloped by polished concrete walls. Arched metal profile windows and intricate bamboo detailing adorn the exterior, casting enchanting shadows upon the interior. Within this space, distinct zones provide diverse experiences: a multifunctional area for massage, dance, and art workshops; a dedicated pottery space fostering creativity and learning; and a semi-open bathroom on the second floor, offering a serene blend of aesthetics and practicality.

Ground Floor Plan

A graceful spiral bamboo staircase leads to the second floor, where the Yoga Shala resides. Embracing an open-air concept, this sanctuary features remarkable bamboo arches that frame panoramic views, cultivating a profound connection with the surrounding environment. The Yoga Shala is enveloped by the natural beauty of bamboo, its ceiling a captivating blend of black and yellow bamboo with a skylight at its center. Handcrafted bamboo strips meticulously crafted by local carpenters form the floor, while bamboo arches encircle the entire room.

Yoga Shala: A Sanctuary for Inner Exploration

The Yoga Shala transcends a mere practice space, becoming a refuge for inner discovery. Amidst breathtaking views of rice paddies and the lush greenery of Ubud, visitors can cultivate mindfulness and balance, immersing themselves in the beauty of their natural surroundings.

Yoga & Spa Ubud is a testament to the harmonious coexistence of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Its design is an elegant symphony of natural materials and organic forms, creating an environment that fosters tranquility, self-discovery, and spiritual awakening.
