Yoga & Vines: A Charitable Event Combining Fitness and Philanthropy

2 Min Read

Background and Inspiration

Seeking to enhance support for the annual Alex’s Lemonade Stand fundraiser, Danielle Baker, an educator in the Atlantic City School District, conceived of an event that would merge her passions for yoga and wine. The tragic impact of childhood cancer on a student within the district prompted Baker’s tireless efforts to raise funds for Alex’s Lemonade Stand, a non-profit dedicated to finding cures for all children battling cancer. With a resolute determination to exceed previous fundraising goals and spread awareness about the organization’s mission, Baker initiated discussions with key individuals from Pink Lotus Yoga in Swedesboro and Wagonhouse Winery.

Event Details

From these conversations emerged Yoga & Vines, scheduled for Sunday, June 23rd, amid the picturesque vineyards of Wagonhouse Winery in Swedesboro. The rain-or-shine event offers attendees a diverse selection of yoga classes suitable for varying levels of experience: Beginner, Multi-Level, and Kids. This inclusivity ensures accessibility for all participants, including parents who may otherwise require childcare.

Participants can expect a one-hour yoga session led by experienced instructors from Pink Lotus Yoga, followed by a wine tasting for adults and refreshments for younger attendees. Guests are encouraged to don yellow attire in solidarity with the Alex’s Lemonade Stand cause.
