Lauds Religious Mutts’ Role in Education and Cultural Preservation
Prime Minister Modi praised religious mutts for their contributions to education and the preservation of India’s cultural legacy. He made these remarks at the inauguration of the KSS Sanskrit Pathashala and Hostel Building at Suttur Mutt in Mysuru on Monday. The Prime Minister also unveiled commentaries on Narada Bhakti Sutras, Shiva Sutras, and Pathanjali’s Yoga Sutra authored by Siddeshwar Swami, who was present at the event.
The Prime Minister emphasized that religious mutts and seers have consistently come to the country’s aid during times of hardship. He acknowledged the significant contributions of several mutts in Karnataka, including Suttur Mutt and Siddaganga Mutt of Tumakuru, which have established numerous educational institutions.
Mr. Modi highlighted the role of religious institutions in fostering education and the spread of knowledge. He urged seers and mutts to promote the adoption of natural and organic farming practices, which would contribute to a chemical-free environment and enhance food quality.
