Astronaut Shares Images of ISS Yoga Practice

On the occasion of International Yoga Day on June 21st, Emirati astronaut and flight engineer, Sulatan Al-Neyadi shared an image of himself practicing yoga aboard the International Space Station (ISS).

Clad in workout gear, the astronaut can be seen in a cross-legged position, suspended in zero gravity. A serene smile adorns his face and his eyes are closed in meditation.

Al-Neyadi acknowledges the benefits of yoga on his social media post, describing it as a practice that strengthens the body, sharpens the mind, and reduces stress.

Yoga has gained immense popularity around the globe, as evidenced by the numerous social media posts showcasing individuals practicing yoga in various settings.

In 2014, the United Nations General Assembly officially designated June 21st as International Yoga Day, recognizing the practice’s growing appeal.
