Introduction

On Sunday, January 15th, Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankar will preside over the dedication of the Isha Yoga Centre’s Adiyogi statue in the Chikkaballapura district. This ceremony follows a Karnataka High Court ruling on Friday, permitting the event despite claims of environmental infractions.

The Isha Yoga Centre is erecting an 112-foot Adiyogi statue in Avalagurki, Chikkaballapura, Karnataka. This monument replicates the iconic statue found at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore.

Inaugural Ceremony

The statue’s official unveiling will take place on January 15th, with Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar presiding. The event will also be graced by Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot and Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, along with other notable dignitaries.

Court Approval

The court authorized the inauguration after Isha Foundation attorneys assured the court that no trees would be cut for the event and that construction would not continue. The court acknowledged this commitment and permitted the event to take place as scheduled.

Environmental Concerns

In response to environmental concerns, petitioners’ counsel asked the court to prohibit fireworks during the statue’s dedication. The court noted that such activities would not occur, as the event was specifically planned for the Vice President’s attendance.

Conclusion

The inauguration of the Adiyogi statue at the Isha Yoga Centre in the Chikkaballapura district is a significant event. Despite previous environmental concerns, the court’s approval and the foundation’s assurances pave the way for a successful ceremony.
